Meet the New Lappy

My beloved r51 sadly passed away Monday afternoon around 1pm. The screen had already been acting up for the past few days, freezing up completely and then not turning on after the restart. This time it was permanent. I took it by the ITS peeps and they told me the video card or something died. Rather then pay to repair a computer I already considered replacing before, I rushed to Best Buy to look at their selection, which was literally zero. See, Windows Vista rolls in a week and stores understandably stopped ordering PCs that would soon be obsolete. Thankfully, CompUSA still had some left, so I snapped up the Toshiba Satellite A105-S4344 they had on display.

So far I don't have anything to complain about. It came at a relatively good price and has plenty of RAM and GB and all the other acronyms I don't understand. Although I do miss my red keyboard nipple. As soon as those buggers at ITS extract my class notes and case briefs from my late r51's hardware, things should be back to normal.

R.I.P. R51. May your brothers outlive you by many, many years...

I think you're the first to suffer a fatal post-graduation blow. I dunno if I can afford a new computer in law school, but I've checked and you can get a pretty good one for around $1,000 (like you did) which ain't bad.
