Baseball kicked off today as it always has - a week before April at the crack of dawn, live from the Tokyo Dome! With advertisements patched on to the uniforms! Ah, tradition.
But hey, the Sawks won. What right do I have to complain. Best recuhd in basebaahl! Nomah!

Bold predictions for '08:
AL East: Sawks (duh)
AL Central: Tigers (love their off-season additions).
AL West: Seattle (would pick the Angels if their two best pitchers weren't hurt).
AL Wildcard: Angels (this MIGHT be the year the Yanks fall to third place in their division. Maybe not.)
NL East: Mets (I have no clue why so many people are picking the Braves with their geriatric pitching staff).
NL Central: Cubs (I'd like to pick the Brewers, but they just don't have the pitching).
NL West: D-Backs (I don't see how the division champions from last year can get worse by adding Danny Haren)
NL Wildcard: Phillies (too many bats)
World Series: Mets over Angels. I see the Angels beating the Sawks with Lackey and Escobar healthy, and the Mets will have a great 1-2-3 with Santana/Pedro/Maine.
3rd place, NL Central: Redbirds. Mark Mulder returns ahead of schedule and sucks. Chris Carpenter returns behind schedule, but is ok (but not normal Carpenter). Pujols plays the whole season and hits 40+ HRs. Rick Ankiel and Chris Duncan each hit 25+ HR. Troy Glaus makes 25+ errors and starts getting booed at home. Izturis plays such amazing defense that Cardinal fans completely forget about David Eckstein. Tony LaRussa comes back for '09 because the Cards will be a lot better.
I didn't know Swisher played CF before. He just seems like the stocky first baseman type, not the slim, quick, center field type.
