In All Seriousness, Cocoa Krispies Are Really Good

There comes a point in time in every man's life when he has to swallow his pride, hope for the best, expect the worse... and have a random points post on his blog. This, my friends, is that time.

Coco Crisp. Nice. I really was hoping we (yes, "we" as in the Red Sox, gimmie a break) could trade less and get Jason Michaels instead, but I've recently learned that Michaels has had some legal transgressions and may not be mentally fit for a pressure-filled environment like Boston. That and the fact it was Arthur Rhodes and not Mota who was swung for Michaels make me feel a wee better about the whole shebang.

I assume the final piece for the 2006 Red Sox is to sign no-bat all-glove Alex Gonzalez to play shortstop, though his agent wants a three-year contract (it's down there somewhere, keep scrolling). My advice? Don't budge an inch. Gonzalez knows perfectly well that he won't get a better deal than a one-year with the Red Sox, and we can always fall to Alex Cora and Tony Graffanino to play short until prospect Dustin Pedroia is ready.

Also, a note for Boston manager Terry Francona. We all know how you love to play the veterans, but if I see you illogically start creeping more and more starts for J.T. Snow in lieu of Kevin Youkilis, I will come to Fenway Park and smack you. Oh, and for crying out loud, don't bat him 8th, in front of Gonzalez. If that happens, Youks' one great skill (getting on base) will be a complete waste. Bat him 1st, 2nd or maybe 9th, serving as a secondary lead-off guy.

Wake Forest University Men's Basketball Program. My goodness. I don't even know what to say here. I'm usually loyal to a default, but... Prosser. Come on. What on earth is this team doing at the bottom of the ACC? We have two very good talents (Gray, Williams) and solid role players (Strick, Ellis, even Hale seems to be doing well enough). I hate to say it, but Prosser's coaching skills really seem to take a dive when he has no All-Americans to fall back on. There was Howard, then Paul, but now we don't have a player that can single handedly take over a game. Teams with good coaching can overcome that, but we have yet been able to do so.

Snakes on a Plane. Who can't love a movie about that? At least you'll know exactly what you're getting into. And I don't know whether to love or hate SLJ for being so dumb/smart to take this role.

But then who will be around to throw 30 interceptions and still be considered an elite quarterback?

For those of you who haven't heard, my dad bought an iPod. That certainly makes me the first of my generation to be beaten to an iPod by his own parents.

All right, all for now. By the way, blogger's spell check is really stupid. First it didn't recognize "blog" or "blogger," now it wants me to change stuff like "1st" and "J.T." Somebody should get on that.
