After someone requested some new posts, I decided to take an old idea out of storage, dust it off, and present it for the world to see.
This nifty little link allows one to create their own baseball uniform. I took advantage and designed the outfits for the next great baseball franchise - the Carolina Colonials.
Home:
Away:
Alternate:
Wake Forest colors, of course. I went with "Colonials" because of the alliteration with "Carolina" and North Carolina was home to the first English colony. I fell in love with this little idea so much I had some fun with Word and Paint to make some logo ideas. A quick sample:
The whole smorgasbord of virtual doodles can be found here. I used a "Yold Anglican" font for the big "C" and a "Morpheus" font for the rest. The two white stars represent North and South Carolina, as if they were the same two white stars from Old Glory that stand for the Carolinas. So if I happen upon a cool 200 million and the Marlins or DEVIL Rays are up for sale, I'm ready to go.

Looks nice. My only beef is the mandatory alliteration. Those are so overrated. Granted, it's not like NC has a lot of obvious mascot choices. The Charlotte Tobaccos? The Winston-Salem Donuts?
Next step: Find a website that lets you design your own stadium... I'm disappointed with a lot of the new ones coming out...
How did you save the pictures? The "e-mail to self" option?
You're probably opposed to this because of the Yanks, but I think black pinstripes look cool (a la the Astros).
i used "print screen" and pasted into Paint.
The other thing I don't like is the different words on the home and road jersey. I know you did it because Boston does it, but I think it's weird. You should have the same lettering on both of your primary jerseys. In my opinion.
hey man, make your own uniform. :-P
i can't believe what you said about home and away uniforms.
you do realize that means you think all baseball teams but six have "weird" uniforms? Only the Cards, Brewers, Phillies, Orioles, Rays and Angels use the team name on their away uniforms. All other teams use the city/state name on the road and the team name at home (or a symbol in the cases of the yankees, cubs, reds, white sox and tigers).
