grrr! studying anger!

I purchased some mini outlines for the NC bar off e-bay. Why? Because Micromash's "condensed" outline for say, contracts, was THIRTY-EIGHT PAGES LONG.

Really, Micromash? That's the shortest outline you could come up with? If I brought a 38 page outline for my contracts professor to look over, he'd laugh in my face.

When I made outlines for my classes, their length progressed from about 100-70 pages, then about 20, then about 5, then finally a one-page outline featuring little more than abbreviated words and acronyms of basic points. Not until I saw that entire course on a single sheet of paper did I feel prepared for the exam.

So what the hell Micromash? You give me NOTHING to skim over with beyond a table of the contents for your 30-40 freaking page "condensed" outlines. I have to go on e-bay to find true outlines: 2-5 page summaries of each topic. Thanks for nothing.

...and he never left north carolina again

So I'm back. I had to make an 8-hour drive on my birthday, but I'm back where I belong. I suppose my three years up north weren't all bad - ok, the first year was undoubtedly the worst year of my life (95% because of the awful dorm I had to live in), but the two years after that (in my own apartment!) had its moments. To that end...

Things I'll miss about Pennsylaware.

1) Wawa. At 3pm on most days, I would go to the Wawa across the street from my apartment and grab a 16 oz coffee (with lots of hazelnut creamer) and an old-fashion style doughnut. Delicious.

2) My apartment. It was small by conventional standards, but the perfect size for me. More importantly, it was my own, and nothing ever broke or didn't work there. I also loved being able to walk to the gym.

3) The onion rings from Seasons Pizza. Probably the best I've ever had. But only on the weekdays - their weekend onion rings weren't quite as good. Yes, I ate out so much I picked up on patterns like this.

4) My perfect Salad Works create-your-own order: eggs, bacon, crazins, feta cheese, and crunchy chow mein noodles, with ranch dressing. I tried ordering it at the Salad Works in Mooresville but it didn't taste the same.

5) Phillies games. Without a local team in NC, I won't be able to have a guranteed game-on-tv during the baseball season. Listening to Harry Kalas call them before he passed away this year was an added bonus.

Yep, that's about it. Good to be back in the land of Demon Deacons and Bojangles.

what doesn't kill me makes me smarter

In one hour I will begin the most harrowing, exciting, frigtening, and challenging (and almost last!) experience of my academic life. I will take not one, not two, but THREE law school finals in a 31 and 1/2 hour period. Today at 9:30am, today at 6:30pm, and tomorrow at 2pm. Even then I won't be done with law school forever - that will happen when I turn in my 25-page term paper on Monday, which is thankfully already 95% done.

Wish me luck, happy 300th blog post to me, and I'll see you on the other side.
